Composting magic! As fruit and vegetable scraps break down, their seeds can sprout and grow into new plants. These surprise seedlings from my compost bin are proof! 

For our compost's nitrogen source, we typically add peels or produce that we didn't eat before they went bad. And once we started adding old tomatoes, we noticed tomato plants sprouting out of the compost bin! I transferred these sprouts to a new area of my garden and guess what— we have new tomatoes growing for FREE.
